Melissa Kucera

MS, LPC

Melissa grew up in Wyoming and after high school moved out of state to pursue her undergraduate studies. After earning her BA in Social Sciences, she returned to Fremont County, where she now lives with her family. Melissa has been practicing yoga and mindfulness for over 20 years and completed her Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) 200-hour training in 2017. While she no longer teaches yoga classes, this background fostered an interest in holistic wellness and psychophysiology which have helped her integrate self-awareness, mindfulness, and whole-person wellness practices into therapy. Since completing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Melissa has made trauma, PTSD, and post-traumatic growth a focus for her career. Melissa’s theoretic orientation as a therapist is trauma-informed and psychophysiology focused, based in humanistic, relational, psychodynamic, and somatic approaches. Melissa is trained in Brainspotting Therapy and is excited to bring this modality of healing to Fremont County. Melissa takes the time to understand each client’s needs, goals, and lived experiences, utilizing a blend of therapeutic modalities to create an individualized approach that is specific to each client. Her goal is to help clients move through challenges with a sense of self-awareness and emotional resilience, leaving them better equipped to lead fulfilling lives.
